Horsham Tigers 5 v Fareham Heathens 0
This was Farehams first experience of playing official touch rules but they played the game with spirit and verve. Unfortunately for them Horsham's experience and application on key playing tactics around the drive allowed the Tigers to finish comfortable winners.
Fareham Heathens 1 v Haywards Heath 2
After a quick break and a short coaching session by the referee, the Heathens showed that they were quick learners and only lost by a single score in the last play of the game. It was a great game to watch against Haywards Heath who are also a side still very much in development.
Haywards Heath 0 v Horsham Tigers 6
Horsham carried on where they left off from their first game and although Haywards Heath competed valiantly, Horsham's skill around the drive and knowing when to release the ball proved exceedingly effective and impossible to defend, resulting in victory for the hosts.
With the sun on their backs the event attracted some good support and
a great day was had by all. The Heathens really got into the touring spirit with a full fancy dress for the presentations with Tigers' Jemma Davenport being named player of the tournament! Haywards Heath then joined the Tigers for a night out in Horsham to celebrate the first tournament of the Touch Season.
Special thanks to Lizzie Bennet for organising the day along with all those who supported her and to all the players for making it work.
