10 try bonanza marred by injury

Horsham played their second league fixture of the season against visitors Hove. Once again the players and spectators were treated to beautiful weather and a perfect pitch.

The boys, buoyant from their fine win against Lewes last week, were full of confidence and ready to carry on where they left off. Horsham established some early dominance and it wasn't too long before points were on the board with good strength being shown by fly half Josh Tusler as he went over from close range.

The 2nd try came courtesy of a tremendous break from Matt Barrow who took the kick off and ran it back a good 50m before off loading out of the tackle to hooker Callum Butler who was tackled and popped the ball up off the floor for George Allen to score. The joy of scoring was immediately replaced with concern as Matt had stayed down and was attended to by the physio. Unfortunately Matt had broken his arm which needed an operation to set it correctly. We wish Matt all the best and look forward to him making a full recovery in good time.

The rest of the game was a scrappy disjointed affair with Horsham failing to establish any real rhythm or patterns in their play. Hove to their credit never gave up, fighting tooth and nail for the whole game making some outstanding cover tackles.

With two wins to start the season there still remains plenty to work on for the whole squad.
