Sunday 17th November saw Horsham’s U16’s Boys play their first league match of the season against Littlehampton. The lads all arrived buzzing for the game, which presented perfect playing conditions - dry with the sun shining and soft ground to the foot.
The game got underway with Luke Mitchell leading as captain starting the game off with amazing start of a try in under a minute giving Horsham a 0-5 head start. It wasn’t long before Hugo Perrodow scored bringing the score to 0-10. Horsham’s first couple of scrums were dominant before Littlehampton found their way and started fighting back although the score board did not represent this. The try’s carried on coming with Leo Neame, Harry Peel, and Luke Mitchell all scoring followed by a conversion by Harry Peel bringing the score to 0-27. This set the tone of the afternoon with Horsham flourishing with yet more try’s from Scott Cater, Leo Neame and penalty try by Hugo Perrodow finishing the first half 0-44.
The second half saw Littlehampton dig in more and slow the score line down for Horsham but, another 4 tries by Thomas Cochlin, Hugo Perrodow, Milo, and Leo Taylor came our way with an added conversion by Harry Peel finishing the game with a result of 0-64.
The normal after game meal was much appreciated out in the fresh air after all their hard work and Horsham’s man of the match was given by Littlehampton to Kayden Sadler.
