Colts complete a Treble

Over these 3 games Horsham have scored 126 points and conceded zero and it is arguably the zero they are most proud about.

It was clear that Worthing were up for the game and were going to be a challenge given that Horsham were missing some key players including top try scorer Declan Nwachukwu who is away with London and South East u18s. However, the strength in depth and flexibility of the Horsham squad shone through with wings Canice Gonzague and Matt Collier stepping in and having having impressive games. Man of the match Nick Bayne came in at scrum half with normal scrum half Josh Steggles looking very accomplished at 10.

Horsham soon weathered the Worthing storm and captain and flanker Tom Clayton burst through the centre to score under the posts following a turnover by no
8 Michael Watson. Steggles converted to make it 7 0. Soon after a catch and drive from a line out saw the Horsham pack power forward and flanker Daniel Riley to touch down for the second try which wasn't converted. It wasn't perfect from Horsham as on 3 occasions overlaps weren't finished off but just before half time an astute cross kick from Steggles was taken by Gonzague who burst through tackle to touch down under the posts. 19 0 at half time.

Horsham were soon on the attack in the second half and further tries came after Clayton again burst through to score under the posts and 2nd row Aiden Plumpton scored for the 3rd week in a row as he finished off a powerful forward move in the corner. A conversion and penalty from Steggles brought the score to 34 0 but a combination of white line fever and very determined Worthing defence meant there were no further scores. Horsham were able to use the whole bench and Will Thomas and Nathan Kennell were able to make their first appearances of the season. Big challenges lie ahead but the squad is improving game by game.
