In places Horsham played some brilliant rugby and overall it was a very satisfying performance from the Horsham squad.
There were some errors made and areas of development for the coaching team to work on in training, but this should not detract from a fantastic display, and you feel there is another level this group of players can reach.
Rasmus Madum scored the first try, which Jordan Bell converted, taking a great running line to split the Heathfield defence.
A brilliant line out maul and drive to the try line while camped in Heathfields 22 saw another 5 points scored by Ollie Lewis.
The home team were a little shell shocked at Horshams quick start and didn't expect to be 12 points down which was extended with a try by Joe Blake who burst through Heathfields back line to score from 20 metres.
Horsham were enjoying plenty of possession with the forwards creating a platform for the backs to produce some expansive running rugby which paid off when Jordan Bell scored a great try running outside 3 defenders to dive over in the corner.
The first half ended 22-0 and within minutes of the second half starting some quick hands by the backs
resulted in another 5 points with a great chip and chase by Max Patterson to score a try which was converted by Jordan Bell.
Charlie Best added 5 points with a score in the corner and Patterson extended the lead with his second try.
Horsham were now dominating the game and further trys were scored by John Matthews and Hayden Brock who threw a great dummy the create the space to score.
The last try was converted making the final score 51-0.
Brilliant start to the League against a rather stunned Heathfield.
