Things started well for Horsham and they quickly gained territory and opportunities to get on the scoreboard. Their early dominance was rewarded and up until the first try looked in control. Unfortunately, things unravelled a little from the restart and a sequence of errors compounded to allow Worthing to get on the scoreboard. Another try followed after the referee appeared to signal a Worthing knock on but as Horsham should know by now you need to play until the whistle. Horsham reacted well on the restart but having crafted the overlap knocked on a yard from the line. A number of good attacking positions were earnt by Horsham but each one failed as they were unable to present a clear enough picture for the referee. Worthing were able to keep capitalising on Horshams poor discipline who at one time had been reduced to 13 players. Horsham scored a consolation try at the end but 10-31 was scant reward for the effort they'd put in.

The game meant a lot to the boys and the coaches but whilst we can teach many aspects of the game simulating the pressure when things aren't going well and the world seems against you is tough no matter the age. It was evident how much they cared about the result and there was no lack of effort. We will rue the opportunity missed but will embrace the learning opportunity this week, reflect on how we all dealt with the various challenges that landed in our path and move forward towards our next game.
