Last Kick Win for Colts

These teams are extremely well matched and the
League fixture in February will surely prove to be just as close.

Horsham wasted early possession with a loose penalty kick to touch.
From this Lewes camped in the Horsham 22 but the home side defended
resolutely. They appeared to have overcome the worst when awarded a
penalty. However, instead of clearing their lines Horsham chose to take
a scrum which they lost against the head and the Lewes fly half darted
in under the post for a converted try. 7-0.

Horsham got back into the game via some powerful drives by the
forwards. Just before half time wing Declan Nwachukwu outpaced
significant Lewes cover to score under the posts. Cameron Allan added a
simple 2 points. 7 - 7.

Horsham dominated the start of the 2nd half and it was no surprise when
no 8 Aiden Plumpton drove over from the back of a scrum. The conversion
was missed. 12 - 7.

If Horsham thought the game was won then they were in for a rude shock
as Lewes forced their way into the Horsham 22. The eventually added a
second try which was converted.

This really shook Horsham up and they pressed for the rest of the game,
only to just come up short on a number of occassions. With time running
out the home side were awarded a penalty which Cameron Allan converted
to give Horsham a 15-14 victory. Despite the less than perfect
conditions, it was a very competitive game which ebbed and flowed
between two of the strongest outfits in Sussex.
