Horsham ended the year on a massive high with all three teams recording huge wins against local opposition. 1's destroyed Crawley while the 2's took revenge on Holbrook following a friendly earlier in the season. Top of the league Casuals travelled to Southgate to take on St. Francis 2nd XV Which on paper should have been a tight encounter. On the day however it wasnt to be. Horsham boosted by the returning university students made a historically veteran side look decidly youthful and sadly for Frannies they could play a bit too. Huge credit should go to Frannies for honouring the fixture after they lost six of their regulars to their 1st XV on the morning of the game and the 13 players who took the field did the club proud with a spirited performance full of the passion we have come to expect from the Crawley based club. Ironically despite the scoreline the two best tries of the day came from the home side led by the evergreen Matt Jeater but in fairness with two players down they were never going to compete with the likes of Green Army's Rory Yeates who ended the day with four tries. The game itseelf was played in great spirit thanks largely to the fantastic refereeing of Huw Thomas whose man management of thee game was sublime. A great finish to 2011 which sees the club going from strength to strength and looking forward to continued success in 2012.
