With the team sheet reading a very strong backline, the Lions took to the field in a League fixture against rivals Plumpton Rfc.
It took the Horsham outfit 15 minutes to score, after moving the ball wide to their very dangerous looking backline. To be honest, the 2nd quarter of the game had the most exciting Rugby, with Tries coming from Jake Lowe, Rory Yeates and Arun Thompson. Plumpton kept up the pressure close to the breakdown and used their heavyweight forwards to batter the fringes, but with the Horsham defence holding, their options were running low. The second half consisted of tries from Plumpton with Horsham thinking the game was already won. Although, Horsham did score more, a try from Goodsir, Lowe and again Yeates. The Final score 45-14.
Good performances came from Fitzgerald in the second row and Jeff Carvell at Blindside. New signing Edd Jones had a solid game, and some nice lines of running from Richard Brooker on the wing.
