Horsham Lions hosted Newick at Coolhurst on Saturday afternoon, the newly promoted Lions outfit faced the relegated from Sussex One, Newick side in their first League game.
The Newick forwards worked well and had size over the Lions, but what the Horsham side lacked in size made up for in pace and skill, some new young fresh faces have brought another aspect to Horshams game.
Tries came from Hooker Jake Lowe with his usual pace, slipped down the right wing for a well finished try. Rory Yeates went over, as did Neal Holden with a rampant charge. Jake Gates scored a nice individual try from intercepting a pass and running 40 meters with Newick back line hot on his heels. Last but no means least, new signing Cam Scott scored a lovely well worked try to finish the game. Final Score 25-0
A good solid performance from all the team, still more to work on but all very positive stuff!
Well done
