The Lions face Haywards Heath in the Cup

Heath travelled the short distance to the Coolhurst ground, to face the Lions.

Heath used there powerful forwards to batter the defence of the home team, and gained dominance after using the straight running of their number 8 to cross the line. However, this Lions side is not one to take things laying down! Heath won the first half, but with a score between the two sides, Horshams patience soon paid off. Ex Heath Player Guy Bateman, now playing for the Lions took the ball in and drove close to the line, and with a stretch of the arm grounded the ball and the game was back on. With Tries coming from powerful runs from Carl Harman and Richard Henderson it was too much for the visitors. With new blood being brought in via the colts, and Charles Palmer stepping into the center for his debut in the Lions, the youngsters did not fail to impress. Final Score 20 -16 to Horsham. Through to the next round in which the Lions face Hove 2nds.
