Round Robin Cup

Horsham U13 Girls assembled at Worthing for a Round Robin Cup event against Worthing Pulborough and Hove.

First match was against Pulborough started promptly at 1100hrs.
The first half was a tense energetic affair which emerged as Horsham only slightly up and our girls struggling to cut loose and only having 7-8 players. However in the second half Horsham started to go through the phases and with some great tackling in defence and some well executed offloads started to pull away, finally ending with a well deserved win.

Second match against Hove was again in the first half a tense affair with no real advantage. However special mentions must go to Katie, our resident speed star who came off for a short while and then bravely wanted to go back on into the fry, Sophie who after a sleepover and limited sleep, appeared and threw herself into the action. Eleanor who accidentally took a boot to the throat and was in a lot of distress initially, but recovered quickly and joined the action again a little later. Hove deserve a special mention as this was their first competitive match at this age group and acquitted them selves very well. Second half again showed us ramping up hitting the phases and gradually pulling away from the opposition.

The Final Match against Worthing showed a recent addition to the team really getting the bit between her teeth and running in two tries from quite a way out, putting her head down protecting the ball and rampaging through. She now joins the unstoppable Grace as our two main line breakers! This time our girls were on the ball from the start and never really looked like losing.
