It is with sadness that we report that Roger Jones passed away on 6 February 2023. He had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease a year earlier.

Roger was a key member of the Club for over 60 years; joining as a player aged 14 before becoming club skipper for the 1970/71 season. He was instrumental in the move to Coolhurst - designing the new clubhouse and even building the bar so many of us have leaned on over the last 50 years. After hanging up his playing boots, Roger was involved in the junior and mini sections, coaching teams from 1979 through to 1997. His 3 sons Matt (Rees), Tom and Nick have all enjoyed playing rugby for Horsham.

Roger’s funeral will take place at 11am on Friday 24 March 2023 at Worthing Crematorium, with a celebration afterwards at Pump Cottage, Worthing Road, Southwater, RH13 9BH.
