Dear Horsham Community,
We want to start by giving a huge thank you to everyone who came out for our annual fireworks night. This year, we faced some truly unexpected challenges that turned the evening into a bit of an adventure, and we appreciate your patience and support through it all.
Just a couple of hours before showtime, a sudden storm caused water damage to our firing panel. Our team and our fireworks partners sprang into action, coordinating a relay to get a replacement part from two hours away. On top of that, an unexpected motorway closure on the M23—caused by escaped horses—added another twist to the tale.
Despite these hurdles, our dedicated crew managed to get the replacement board to the site by making a quick handoff near the road closure and finally bringing everything back on track. The result was a spectacular fireworks display, a little later than planned but every bit as dazzling as we hoped.
We’re incredibly proud of the teamwork and the community spirit that made it all possible. Thank you for standing by us and turning what could have been a washout into a memorable success. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Warm regards,
Horsham Rugby Club
