Horsham Rugby Club welcomes back The West Sussex Mini's Festival after hosting the inaugural event seventeen years ago. The West Sussex Mini's Festival 2012 is sponsored by The Canadian Spa Company and is being held on Sunday 11th March. It is organised in association with Sussex RFU and will see youngsters from West Sussex teams compete for a place in the Sussex Finals where they play the winners of the East Sussex festival being held at Crowborough on the same day. This event is all about fun with a ‘Fair Play’ trophy being awarded to the club who scores the highest marks for fair play during the day. After the initial pool stages all teams progress either into the Championship semi finals or into Bowl, Plate, Salver and Vase competitions to ensure every team has a full day of rugby.

There will be approximately 720 players aged from 6 to 12 years from visiting teams such as Bognor, Chichester, Crawley, Haywards Heath, Midhurst, Pulborough, Shoreham & Worthing and of course there will be our own Horsham teams.

The Sussex Finals are being held at Eastbourne RFU on 1st April and Horsham RUFC is hoping to build on the success of last year’s tournament in which the Horsham U11’s became West Sussex Champions but were narrowly beaten by Brighton in the Sussex Finals. The Under 12’s finishing position in the competition determines their league place next season when they move into the U13’s making this an all important occasion.

This year Horsham Rugby Club also welcomes Lexus as the West Sussex Minis Festival programme sponsor. The event will provide the highly popular BBQ, refreshments and raffle with the bar opening at 12.00pm. The car park opens at 9.00am with matches commencing at 10.30am and the finals being played at 2.30pm. We look forward to welcoming you!
