On top of this it is mornings like this that makes it all worthwhile ....!! The sun was shining, the scenery was fantastic in Lewes, we won 53-7 and most importantly it all came together when the boys in the after match talk heard ‘You’ve done bloody well and raised the bar’.
Lewes never did stop playing and truly deserved their try. We saw tries galore (Rasmus Madum, Sam Wheeler, James Purbrick, John Matthews, Jordan Bell x2, a hat-trick from Ben Murphy to the delight of his girlfriend), 4 conversions from Josh Medley and Matthew Allen and we saw our forwards again showing that we have the best defence in the league. And while we have always had a good scrum - now all the boys can tackle – really tackle, really really tackle! Exemplified by a Man of the Match performance by Aaron Bulman - despite coming in marginally from the side in the ruck, and blaming a little snot in the nose of not doing the end of match challenge.
If we can keep the momentum, work as hard as today and also beat East Grinstead in two weeks’ time at home, 2014 will start with a fantastic top shelf match against Midhurst. People talk about this team all around the county now - let's make them talk about Green Army also at the end of the season.
Thanks also to our boys for not shaving their moustaches so far in November, supporting Coach Jones, our first team and the important charity, eg. www.uk.movember.com/team/1015109
