With 11 of the squad away on Sussex County duty it was a great opportunity for Horsham to show off its great strength in depth against a very useful Surrey outfit. Due to players being away a number of players had to fill unusual positions, but that didn't stop the home team running out 26-10 winners with a display of great strength, commitment and running rugby.
Horsham scored 4 tries via second row Matt Brock, wing Ben Carbone, flanker Joe Humphrey and captain and fly half Matt Streeter who was also successful with 3 conversions. There were a number of outstanding performances particularly from Humphrey and Streeter and man of the match scrum half Sam Holden who was constantly encouraging his team and distributing quick ball to the backs.
