On a glorious sunny day following a dreary wet winter, the boys’ under 15 rugby team of Horsham hosted Jersey in a highly anticipated home game that showcased both skill and determination. The final scoreline of 24-0 in favour of Horsham echoed their dominance on the field, leaving spectators in awe of their performance.

The match ignited with a burst of energy as Harry Dolan capitalized on a breakaway from a line-out in the opposition half, setting the tone for Horsham’s relentless attack. Dolan’s try was the spark that ignited the team’s confidence, with further tries from Ollie Chamberlain and Dolan himself, complemented by a conversion courtesy of Thomas Cochin.

The coaching staff were delighted to see Horsham putting into practice the slick training ground moves inspired by the senior first team, a testament to their dedication and hard work on the training pitch.

The first half saw Horsham establish a strong foothold in the game, commanding a halftime lead of 17-0.

In the second half, Jersey emerged with renewed determination, showcasing great attitude and stout defense that held Horsham at bay. However, with an important bonus point on the line, Horsham intensified their search for another try. Their persistence paid off as Alfie Salsano bulldozed his way over the try line, once again converted by the reliable boot of Thomas Cochin.

The victory not only solidifies Horsham’s position in the league but also puts them in closer contention, having lost only one game this season. The outstanding performances of Thomas Cochin and Luke Mitchell, recognized by the opposition as joint “Men of the Match”, underscored Horsham’s collective effort and individual brilliance.
