Lewes was top of the league having won all three of their league games so far.

The match started slowly for Horsham with Lewes regularly turning the ball over and the opposition quickly scored. Lewes had a couple of very quick players who highlighted a hole in the Wildcat defence. Lewes scored again and heads were slightly drooping amongst the supporters. Thoughts turned towards an easy win for Lewes but the Wildcats have some serious heart.
Horsham rallied with the forwards. Dan Mortimer thrust through to score and Thomas Cochlin converting to bring the score to 7-10. However Lewes quickly came back with a try but the Wildcat forwards pushed through with Scott Cater and another conversion from Thomas.
Half time score 14-17.
Lewes started well with another try and conversion bringing the score to 14-22 and all seemed lost until a horrendous tackle on Milo close to the Lewes 22. The Lewes player received a yellow card and was out for the rest of the match. This is when the Wildcat Avengers assembled. From the penalty, Dan (Bulldozer) Mortimer scored again but with time running out, Horsham were 3 points behind. Just in the nick of time, some classy passing and teamwork led to Henry Perrodow threading the needle to score the last try and win what was a thrilling match. The result is testament to the whole team who simply did not give in.
