Horsham U15 League and Cup Double

Having beaten the only other unbeaten team in the league Chichester 8-10 away at Chichester in wet muddy conditions in what turned out to be the league decider, Horsham new that the Cup final would be another hard fought game.
Chi started strongly to put Horsham under pressure from the start, not seeing much ball for the first 10 minutes Chic kept Horsham in their 22, the pressure resulted in a penalty which Chic duly converted 0-3. As the possession started to even up and Horsham backs starting to get better ball they where able to put Chic under constant pressure, penalty Horsham unfortunately this was not converted score remained 0-3. Horsham forwards and backs started to click, with confidence growing, increased possession, the Horsham off loads in contact, started breaking the gain line time and time again leading to Horshams first try 5-3, Horsham continued to absorb Chic's pressure, constantly breaking the gain line with both forwards and backs lead to another gap in the strong Chic defense allowing a strong run from George C to score and convert 12-3, Chic kept up the pressure attacking in the Horsham half when Scott read the Chic back play, cut inside the Chic's outside centre to intercept for a run in try from 60 metres, George C converting 19-3. Half time. Horsham knew that Chic would not give up, the second half saw both sides put each other under pressure. Chic throwing the ball wide just outside their own 22 a gap opened up for Chic to score a runaway try of their own which was converted 19-10. This encouraged the Chic players who had a dominant 10 mins and through their powerful forwards crossed the Horsham line once more 19-15. With the scoreline getting to close for comfort, Horsham then stepped up another gear, forwards creating a good platform for the backs to run and throw the ball wide for Scott to score his second try which George C converted 26-15. Horsham continued the open running play and another fine break from Fraser and offload to Matt for the last score of the game. Horsham 31-Chic 15.

Fantastic way for the Horsham U15 players to finish the competitive season winning the League and Cup to complete the double.
The coaches could not be prouder of the whole squad. It has been challenging season turning out two teams on league days, week after week the squad have turned up for training and then turned out for games. The A team have won all of our league games and the B team have improved massively to finish in the top half of league two.
We are extremely proud of the whole squad team and our coaching staff for this truly great achievement.
