A clinical, ruthless display continues the winning run
The positives continue with the most complete display of the season to date creating a winning mentality within the squad and selection headaches for the coaching team.
With our usual match reporter Danish Pete unavailable and yours truly getting to the match late after a boozy evening and being delayed by the lure of a full english, I only caught the last play of the first half with Matt Allen converting our 7th try!
This was an excellent team performance with the whole squad involved, there was plenty of committment at the breakdown and tackle area - all which were lacking in our recent game against Reeds Weybridge.
The scrum created a great platform for the backs to attack at speed who
involved plenty of variety in their play.
With most of the possession Horsham always looked like scoring but Effingham & leatherhead battled throughout the 80 minutes putting in a high tackle count and competing physically.
Trys were scored by John Matthews (3), Callum Punter, Louis Evans, Jordan Bell, Sam Minto, Lewis Wilson (2) and George Carbone (2).
Matt Allen - last seasons prop to this seasons centre - kicked 5 conversions with Josh Medley converting 3 in the second half.
The team need to play with the same intensity next week in their crunch league game against Lewes.
