Tired after an early start and a 40 minute flight & not realising Guernsey selected their team based on European regulations with a mixed age squad (U15/16) to combat the French, the Horsham boys started full of confidence & comittment.

With a couple of new starters with limited rugby experience in a squad of 19 players we battled well against a much bigger Guernsey team.
When the players have hairier legs that the coaches we always worry & the opposition had about 6 big U16 players.

We tackled & rucked very well and held our own for the majority of the game but with the boys always on the back foot and spending large parts of the match defending it was physically draining with Guernsey finally winning 17-0.

We played an extra 15 minutes while waiting for Cherbourg to arrive but this just gave us more selection problems due to our growing injury list as Guernsey ran in 2 converted trys to nil.

Next up were a rather large looking joint Cherbourg-Hague/St Lo Minimes (U15/16) Team!
