Horsham travelled to Hastings for their final league game of the season and in appalling wet, cold and windy conditions they again ran out winners, this time by 29-10. It was a great performance by all the squad but particularly from Joe Humphrey, Ben Birch, Oscar Vallance and Jordan Chapman who were making their first league match appearances of the season.
Despite the conditions Horsham were still true to their running game and the fact that, due to injury, 5 wingers were playing in the backs, meant the away team had pace to burn. 4 of the 5 tries came from the backs as Horsham lead by 3 tries to nil at half time via touchdowns from Declan Nwachukwu, Liam Mcgivern and Ben Birch. Horsham went on to add 2 further tries in the second half via fly half Liam Ruz following a neat chip and chase, and man of the match and team captain Tom Clayton.
The boys have again narrowly missed out on the County final, finishing 3rd in the Sussex A league for the 3rd year on the trot. Roll on U’16s when they are determined to put this right."
