Horsham Lions host Norfolk Arms at Coolhurst
The Lions started their 2013 league campaign with a dogged out win against local rivals Norfolk Arms.
The game started with The Lions heading down the pitch with the wind on their backs, but failing to use the conditions and pitch to their advantage. After a penalty against them, Norfolk Arms took the three points. Eventually, when the ball was put into the corner a try was scored, from a well timed lineout and rolling maul. Jake Lowe crossed from short range.
Norfolk Arms replied with a try from their 6, who slipped down the right wing to crash over.
The second half saw a try from the Norfolk Arms winger in the right hand corner. A very scrappy half continued, and saw Jo Wilde score and Martin Tomlinson over in the corner for the Lions. The final score 19-16, (however the ref put it as 17-16!!!)
All in all, a bad performance from the Horsham outfit, but a win is a win.
We roll on, Barns Green this coming weekend lets see if we can up our game gentlemen!
