Horsham end the season on a high after putting 5 tries past Park House on the final day of the season

There was a relaxed atmosphere prior to the match, with both teams knowing that any outcome would not significantly impact their final league position. That was the case until James Whiting's aggressive tackle almost straight from the kick off which set the tempo for the rest of the half. Unfortunately the referee deemed the tackle to be 'late' and awarded an easy penalty to the home side to take the early advantage. Fortunately for Horsham, that was the only sniff of scoring that Park House would get for the remained of the half. 3-0

Horsham's first try followed shortly after the restart; Splats managed to emerge from a Park House maul with the ball, and put the leggy James Whiting into space for a 40 yard run into the 5"2 Park house winger. A quick dart over the line by Rob Hoskins completed the move. 3-5

After scoring, Horsham created and wasted a few chances, most notably Splats fumbling the ball over the line from 30cms out, and Iain 'Gods clown' fisher receiving his forth yellow card of the season for Inappropriately touching the Park House Tighthead in the scrum. Finally Horsham's pressure paid off as the shortest man on the pitch (Seth Wise) leaped like a salmon to charge down the Park House stand offs clearance which was calmly gathered by Liam Yeates to score. 3-10

Matt Brown controlled the game well, and was almost rewarded with a try late in the first half after being shamefully tripped resulting in a penalty in front of the posts. The crowd were surprised to see this go over. 3-13. Half Time.

Park House came out well in the second half with only a great tackle from Tom Wright preventing an early try, and a rare tackle from Sammy Sussex to halt the Park House attack. After a tense period in the match 2 of Horsham's front row players linked up well on the wing, with Rob GH beating his man and putting a great ball into the path of Neal Holden running from depth. What they were doing on the wing in the first place I will never know. 3-18

In true Horsham fashion, we decided to let park house back into the game. In a short 5 minute spell Park House managed to score two freak tries from poor defence and which were converted well by their fly Half. 17-18.

With 20 minutes left to play, on from the subs bench came Johnny Whiting and Nick Bell who had a huge impact on the match. After a few good carries, Johnny Whiting found himself in space and drew three defenders before offloading or Matt Brown, who made sure that he scored under the posts to ensure he would clock his only conversion of the match. 17-25

Johnny Ordidge conserved his energy well through the match and scored a great solo effort late in the second half to seal the victory from Horsham. 17-30 Final Score.

In the end, it was a well deserved victory for Horsham and with respect to Park House the score line flattered the losing team.
