Thanks to everyone who contributed to make our Fireworks and Bonfire Night such a successful evening.

We would like to thank everyone who supported our Fireworks and Bonfire Night last weekend. It was one of the most successful events we have ever held, helped by the mild and dry weather, with a crowd of around 3,500 and we are already planning to make next year’s Fireworks and Bonfire Night even better! The fireworks were even more spectacular than last year so well done to Aurora Fireworks for putting on such a wonderful display. Hopefully everyone had a night to remember.

The night is one of the Rugby Club’s biggest annual fundraising events and the £8k profit, not including the record bar takings, is going toward funding our new Changing Rooms to help encourage girls and boys to play sport in the Horsham area and to leave a legacy for future generations.

To add an extra sparkle to the evening Rebecca Craven and Max Bowden were in attendance from the hit BBC show Waterloo Road to judge the “make a guy” competition and provide some glitter to the occasion. To ensure that they arrived in style the stars were chauffeur driven by event sponsors, Vines of Gatwick, from their London homes, and from the photographs they were clearly a hit with their fans. The evening ended by local band “Saviours of Soul” playing live in the club room.

We must also thank our neighbours for being so tolerant of the noise and heavy traffic and for the various local companies who supported us for the event. These include Hepworths Brewery, Henry Adams, The Candy Box, The Black Jug, Capitol Theatre, Foundry Press, BEL Signs, Co-Ordination Catering, St John’s Church and Vines of Gatwick.
