Our boys were asked before the game if they believed we could win and after a first clean sheet for our full back we ended with a strong 8-0 victory over Hove – and our now 2nd in the league!

Yet another shaky start and Hove’s strong front row pushed our scrum back the first 15 minutes. Then we got hold of the game and the opposition, took them head on and in the cold rain with a slippery ball powered through and won first half 3-0 with a penalty kick by Matt Allen.

Second half with yellow Magista’s on the wing and our full back Rasmus Madum kept catching the ball, we played more and more in Hove’s 22 and Callum Punter made the right decision for his try and we were ahead 8-0.

Despite the cold weather the game got more and more heated – and also coaches and parents had loud and deep conversations with each other until the end. Great game by all, especially Man of the Match Ben Murphy.

Such a mucky game is what we needed and a victory like this we will talk much more about than had we won with a big margin.

So Green Army did believe and if the boys didn’t have balls before the game they certainly all grew an extra pair today. And Hove ended up looking like Chris Robshaw after the Wasp game, left out of the back door and missed out on Lewis Hamblet’s Michelin Star cooking.
