Following the dissapointment of the Jersey game Horsham continued their momentum with a confidence building win against Effingham & Leatherhead.
Due to a large squad Effingham requested 3 x 20 minute games & with only 17 players available Horsham had a number of players switching to unfamiliar positions.
The boys equipped themselves well against a strong Effingham pack & once the ball was fed out wide took their changes with trys from Goerge Carbone, James Purbrick & John Matthews with Ryan Maguire converting one try to make the score 17-0 in the first 20 minutes.
Effingham brought on some stronger players in the middle 20 minutes & scored a deserved converted try before Ras Madum grabbed 5 points for Horsham.
Horsham finished stronger on the final 20 minutes with trys from Ben Murphy, Olly Lewis & the ever improving Ryan Maguire converting his own try to make it 17-0.
This was a much improved Effingham & Leatherhead side from last season & the final was score 39-7.
It was a perfect game to try different combinations and set piece - not everything worked - but the squad is developing as the season progresses & it was another solid performance.
