After much backwards and Forwarding with regards to 'where' the League match was going to be held, Hellingly provided to 'all weather' pitch at Brighton Rfc.
The game started promising with surges from both sides on a very fast pitch. Hellingly struck first by using their strong runners and punching holes close to the breakdown, and eventually being awarded a try. It was not converted. The Lions struck back with a well executed try, the set up came from Mark Elliott at 10. Elliott fed Dan Bourne who was running some nice lines at 13.
Bourne pressed forward and made a nice pass to Rob Norman who cut a line straight through the defence to touch down under the posts. The conversion was taken.
Hellingly took the game by the scruff of the neck and plowed over the line. With some very odd decisions being made by the man with the whistle, the game was put out of reach for the Lions.
A special mention has to go to the 2 colts who stepped up and showed great pace and awareness around the park, Matt Blake and Oli Nottage linked together well and at times looked very dangerous, good for the future of the club.
