With last weekends loss still in their minds, the lions started again slowly. They again, allowed 17 unanswered points in the first quarter of the match. But this weekend the fight back was on! Tries came in from Dan Crook and Jeff Carvell and by half time the score board was level at 17 -17.
The second half was all Horsham, with the front five destroying the opposition in the scrums and around the park, and with Crook playing out of position, away from his usual number seven shirt. His strong running style and hand off caused his opposite centre to question his tackling ability.
Jeff Carvell had a hatrick of tries, as did Crook. Not to be outdone, Mark Elliot crossed the line after a nice simple run of play, as did Winger Richard Brooker after a nice offload from Harman. Brooker had to leave the field with slight concussion after a knock to the head, and Sam Rice joined the side by crossing the line with his first touch of the ball. Last but no means least, Steve Playford crossed the try line to get on the score board. Josh Chalk stepped up for kicking duties and slotted Five conversions.
The final score 57-17.
A good performance all round, well done!
The Lions play Ditchling away this coming weekend.
