Horsham Lions Host Chichester 4th XV
The Lions played host to Chichester 4th XV, who are sitting at the bottom of the league in the relegation zone and have been all season. The Lions are pushing for promotion with an unbeaten season under their belts. This game was more a formality than anything, but alas, Chichester in all their wisdom felt that they must use ‘underhanded’ tactics with the subtle touch of their 2nd XV game being cancelled on Saturday morning and fielding a side that would equal or better Horsham 1st XV. The Lions took this as a compliment, as we know Chichester 4ths would not have a look in against us. Rant over.
The weather was bad, with boggy underfoot slowed everything down. For once this suited the Lions and helped keep the deficit down to 27-5. I’m not going to report about tries from Chichester 2s, Just our try came from a hard line run from Richard Henderson crashing over much to the relief of the Lions. Some of the hits going in were outstanding, and if we play with the heart and passion shown on Saturday ...................next season the league above will not know what’s hit them!
We move on this weekend to our final match Bognor 2s (apparently, their ones don’t have a game so expect the same as this week) this promises to be an absolute cracker!
