Horsham Lions Host St Francis in league fixture

Lions put St Francis 1xv to the sword!
The Lions hosted St Francis at Coolhurst on Saturday afternoon, which was a potential banana skin for the Horsham teams aspirations for promotion out of the league.
The Lions Tally of tries was opened with ‘probably’ one of the quickest try seen at Horsham! From the kick off the ball was taken cleanly by the St Francis player and shipped left to his Scrum Half, but intercepted by Jo Wilde to go under the posts .....14 seconds! And they were off!
The first half St francis conceded 8 tries, from Wilde, Ickringell and Others! (lost count of who scored what!) To be fair to St Francis, their players stuck to it and it wasn’t all one way traffic! Some good linking play from their 8, 7 and the hooker saw St Francis cross the line for their only try of the game.
The turn of the half saw more play from Bateman at 8, crossing the line twice with some nice linking with the backs. The referee red carded the St Francis’ number 8 for calling him a ‘ladys bits’ in vulgar terms, St Francis were down to 14 men! The Lions took more advantage and punished the Crawley outfit!
Ten Minutes towards the end saw Redmayne make a nice solid tackle on the 9, much to the dislike of the Saints. The flare up ensued and saw Redmayne and Bateman yellowed for the rest of the game. This however, did not matter as the game was out of reach for the visitors. Final score 93-7!
Well done lads!
Man of the match, Alan Jones.
DotD, Adam Harman (for pulling his calf in the warm up)
