Chichester too strong for Horsham U12
Big loss see's Horsham A move down to pool B
The game started very positively with some very good rucking and strong defence shown from Horsham. The organisation of our defence was pleasing and Chichester were unable to break us down for the majority of the first half. When we did gain possession though our attacking play lacked pace and decisiveness and we struggled to make any ground. Liam's good defensive kicking kept the Chichester team back but their first score was inevitable. A couple of injuries to some key players later in the first half affected our structure and Chichester began to find more holes. The 2nd half was much the same and eventually the boys heads started to drop which led to Chichester running in a number of scores. A glimpse of our attacking threat was seen after a good counter attack from Seb and some good distribution led to a very good try scored again by Ollie on the wing. Stand out performances from Ross in the pack and Tom in the backs, both never dropped their heads and they tirelessly got round the pitch. Will and Seb also played well with some good tackling. I still think we have the ability to challenge this Chichester side but we will need to be much more confident going forward and we must ensure that we have stronger running lines from depth. Something for us to work on in training before the next waterfall games later in February.
