Welcome to the Horsham RUFC Senior Squad Homepage

This page provides information for the whole Senior Squad - training details, social news, player profiles and so on. Team-specific news such as fixtures, match reports etc are to be found on each team's homepage.

The Senior Squad is made up of players from all three senior teams - the 1st XV, the 2nd XV (the Lions) and the 3rd XV (the Casuals). Horsham is built on the ethos of "one club, one goal" - players train as a single senior squad, and every player has the opportunity during pre-season and beyond to stake their claim for a position in whichever team they are aiming for. No-one's place in any of the teams is guaranteed from one week to the next and this is reflected by all player profiles being held on this Senior Squad page.

We aim to provide something for players of all ages, abilities and ambitions. Whether that be players working to get their hands on the 1st team shirt, Colts making the transition to Senior rugby and gaining experience or going straight to the 1st team, older players adding experience to the Lions and Casuals, or just guys who want to play rugby regardless of which team it's for, we aim to have something for everyone.

Training is open to all Senior Squad members - there are no separate training sessions for the three teams. Pre-season training is almost complete and has proven to be somewhere between challenging, enjoyable and violently sadistic. The Seniors are coached by the team of Mal Chumbley, Nick Stocker and Alan Croucher. If you're new to the club they will be the ones looking, at various stages, grumpy / exasperated / baffled / shouty.

New players of all ages and standards are always welcome at Horsham - you don't need to have been invited, know anyone at the club or contact us first, just turn up and join in and make yourself known to any of the players or coaches.

Beyond the pitch we also have a social aspect that is rapidly gaining legendary status in the taverns, ale-houses and beer cellars of Horsham. With Social Secretary Rob Grantham Hill at the helm, Giles Barber in the crow's nest and Matt Brown feeling seasick in the galley, expect the good ship Horsham RUFC to be navigated through the shallows of post-match drinking games, songs, fines and celebrations, out into the deep uncharted waters of pub crawls, karaoke nights, paintball and other such foolishness, through the storm that is TOUR, before finally reaching the brave new world of the end of season dinner and awards night.
