The Club Development Programme is taking place in three phases with final completion set for the start of the 2018/19 season

You will recall that the club development programme is in three phases:

1. Build new changing rooms
2. Installation of an AGP
3. Refurbishment of the clubhouse

We are on target for a build commencement date of 27th February for the new changing rooms.
A series of meetings have taken place with Sports Clubhouses over the last few weeks to finalise the details of the development.
In advance of the build date the work to clear the site continues with the containers being moved this week in advance of work to relocate the gas container and dig the new pipeline.
Further meetings have been held with officials of the RFU as we work to complete all the necessary administration in advance of receiving the final award letter. Likewise similar conversations are ongoing with Sport England in order that the award of grant monies dovetails with that of the RFU.
Bob Essex continues to examine further grant opportunities and success on this front will be communicated as and when progress is made.

With regard to the AGP, the RFU hope to complete their feasibility study by the end of this month and we will work with them on further communication.
As you will appreciate, the communication of a development of this scale and importance is something that the RFU want to manage very carefully and they will be working with the club to formulate the communication plan.
Clearly this development will need to communicated to the wider Sussex Rugby community hence the RFU wanting to manage the overall process.

Finally, with regards to the clubhouse refurbishment, the MC have agreed the terms of reference for the project and these will be communicated in due course.
The MC will be seeking members who are prepared to engage with this project and this will be subject to a separate update shortly.
