Horsham Rugby Club today launched its ‘Return to Rugby’ campaign to encourage former players back into the sport.

We are proud that Horsham has been selected as one of only 50 clubs nationwide to host the Return to Rugby campaign and will be running events throughout the Rugby World Cup to encourage players to take up the game.
- Barry Wright, Club Captain for Horsham Rugby Club

Horsham is one of only 50 nationwide chosen by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to host the initiative during the Rugby World Cup. It will be backed with a nationwide advertising campaign and local marketing and online activities.

The club is hosting a rugby fun day this Saturday (26 September) with competitions, a Touch Rugby tournament, family entertainment, live music and beer festival and is encouraging everyone who is interested in playing the game to come along. The fun day will end with the England v Wales world cup match beamed live on big screens.

The RFU campaign aims to get 5,000 players back into the game and is headed by World Cup winner, Lewis Moody. As part of the initiative, Horsham will be running special events and sessions during and after the World Cup to encourage more players to take up the sport.

Horsham rugby club has a women’s team, Touch Rugby team and junior teams, as well as the senior teams, to encourage as many as possible to get involved.
