Murray Poole-Connor

It is with great sadness that I must report Murray Poole-Connor passed away after a long period of ill health on 30th September.

Horsham Rugby Club was very close to his heart and he was involved with the club for 40 years.

Murray was a Chartered Accountant and had a partnership in London, in St James’ Street.

He came to Horsham Rugby Club when his two sons Murray Jr. and Duncan started to play mini rugby in the late 1970s. Because of his finance background he was the Club Auditor and then Reporting Accountant for twenty years from 1981 until 2001. I worked most closely with him in the early 1990’s when I was Club Treasurer and he was always really helpful and a source of guidance to me.

His memorial service will be in London although the details are not yet confirmed. Please let me know if you would like to attend.
