A tough opening game against Hove eventually saw Horsham win 3-0. This was followed by an engrossing struggle with Chichester, which was sealed by a last-minute tap penalty to edge Horsham in front by 2-1. To win the group, and to qualify for the 'A' League in 2012/13, Horsham then needed to beat Midhurst, which they did, scoring 5 unanswered tries. In the Festival final, though, it was clear that perennial rivals Haywards Heath were determined to avenge two years of defeats, and they beat Horsham 2-0 to claim a place in the Sussex Final. The Horsham coaches, however, were delighted with the team's overall performance, and the players will not have long to wait to renew the rivalry with 'Heath', as both sides compete at the Horsham Festival on Sunday 25 March.
