UP ON THE ROOF!
Funds required to replace clubhouse roof as plans for staged redevelopment take shape
Work is continuing on plans to improve the club house and changing facilities at HRUFC. With this in mind, a Development Group has been meeting regularly to discuss the various options open to the club and how best to take them forward. An outline plan is taking shape that will put into place a staged programme of activities that includes a combination of new build and refurbishment - to create a facility of which we can all be proud.
The Development Group is proposing that new top-class changing rooms is built to replace the existing changing facilities, which are in a desperate state. Once work is completed on new changing rooms - the clubhouse will be refurbished. However, the urgent priority is to replace the club house roof.
“Our first task in the redevelopment of HRUFC is to raise funds to replace the club house roof,” says Chris Wright, Chairman of the Development Group. “A new roof is essential to ensure our existing building remains in working order - we can’t afford to let it deteriorate any further. Raising funds is an urgent priority. We’re looking to carry out the work in the Summer of 2011, so there is no time to waste. We’re looking for fundraising ideas so I’d urge anyone with ideas, experience or enthusiasm to come forward as your input would be most welcome.”
Once the work on the roof has been done, the club can move on and put the rest of the development plan into action. If you’d like to become involved in any aspect of this exciting project please contact Chris Wright: development@horshamrufc.com.
