Horsham RUFC's 5th Annual Touch Tournament will take place on Saturday 30th July 2011 at Horsham's Coolhurst Ground.
This year’s event will be staged in an attempt to raise money for the Wooden Spoon, a rugby-based charity dedicated to helping underprivileged and young people all over the UK and Ireland, and Horsham Rugby Club's development fund.
Once again there will be a 16 team adult tournament and we are hoping that there will be also be a competition for the club’s Mini and junior section. As always fancy dress for teams is positively encouraged!
Teams will be made up of 10 players at a cost of £10pp, with proceeds going to both Wooden Spoon and the Club Development Fund. Each player in the adult tournament will receive a free pair of socks to be worn during their games. These are included in the £10pp entry fee, along with a donation to the Wooden Spoon.
To see more about how the money will be used you can go to the Wooden Spoon website at www.woodenspoon.com, and follow the Club Development link on our homepage.
Bob Rogers from the Wooden Spoon and Sussex RFU will be in attendance to hand out the awards on the day and provide any further information regarding the work of the charity in the local area.
As a reminder to all team captains, Mark Ross requires payment for team entries by 11th July. There has been huge interest in this year’s tournament and to avoid disappointment please get your payment in promptly. If you are not a club member but are interested in entering a team or finding our more about the day, please use the contact form on the website via the Contacts & Location tab.
During the day there will be a raffle and auction, along with a live DJ, barbecue and bar. Click on the link below for some info on the 2010 tournament.
With a month to go I hope the date 30th July is in the diaries of your families and friends. This year’s event is shaping up to be the best yet and will be a great day for all the family
More information will be on its way shortly...
